Jimmy Aycock is Honoree in a Network Television Special to be Videotaped in Smithfield, N.C.

 

SMITHFIELD, NC – January 10, 2006 November Entertainment / November Productions began pre-production for the new, upcoming television program “Carolina Icons” which will feature a one hour special honoring Jimmy Aycock, a long time resident and native of Wayne County.

 Aycock was chosen to be honored because of his dedication to education, teaching music in the surrounding area schools for over 40 years and for providing some 50 years of music performances for every conceivable event from weddings to symphony. He is an accomplished composer and arranger and has performed internationally as well as all over the U.S.

 In receiving this honor, Jimmy Aycock will be the first Wayne County native to receive such regionally televised accolades.  There will be a two part broadcast, a one hour concert featuring Jimmy performing with the Symphony of Hope Orchestra string ensemble and other notable world class musicians live on stage, this part of the project will be broadcasted on a network channel to be announced later while the second part of the project, a 30 minute documentary, will be aired nationally on Public Broadcasting Television later this year.
